Piracy
detection rate
In order to catch the pirates, the user's (pirate's) computer has to send
information back to us at registration. If the user is behind a
firewall, or if the user is not on the internet when he/she registers,
no data will be collected. This is why the piracy detection rate is the
highest for Type C software.
Type A - Non-internet enabled software include:
business,
finance,
graphics,
multimedia,
web development, etc..
Type B - Internet enabled software include:
Software that supports
ftp,
e-mail,
web download, etc..
In these cases, the user may allow software
the access to the internet.
Type C - Internet-must-on type of software:
In these cases, the user has to allow software the access to
the internet at all time for it to function. This type of software
include:
Network monitoring,
Network File System Utilities, etc..

For every purchased
copy
of a software, there are many pirated copies. These
Numbers depend on the type of the software.
Of course, there are other factors as well.
The graph is based on many of our clients' data; and
will change when we add
more data.

Type of software -
